ISLANDS OFF CARIA, Kos. Circa 370/60-345 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 23 mm, 15.06 g, 5 h), Alkimachos, magistrate. Bearded head of Herakles to left, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. KΩION - ΑΛΚΙΜΑΧΟΣ Crab with club below; all within pelleted square within faint incuse square. BMC 12. HGC 6, 1302. Karl 348. Pixodarus p. 231, 27 (o5/r20) a (this coin). Nicely toned and with a majestic head of Herakles. Minor edge split and slightly rough, otherwise, very fine.
